For International Women’s Day on March 8, 2019, the Bank of Montreal (BMO) wanted to launch an interactive solution to promote the economic empowerment of women. BMO is the 8th largest bank, by assets, in North America serving products and services to over 12 million customers and maintaining over 900 branches. BMO has the only bank-owned recognition program for women in North America—*BMO Celebrating Women.*
BMO for Women’s mission for International Women’s Day 2019 was to create a call-to-action for accelerating gender parity across the world.
Embreate created a fun quiz to support serious messages of inclusion and economic empowerment. Through a web-based and mobile-friendly build, we integrated simple animations, click and touch screen interactivity, and tracking/scoring for a dynamic and accessible experience. Whether users answered the question correctly or not, they were provided reliable information and statistics to help further their understanding of gender parity.
BMO’s endeavour to recognize the importance of gender equality in creating economies and communities that thrive was shared by thousands of users across the globe. The initiative was an important social outreach and marketing tool that brought both men and women in to learn about gender parity and facilitate an online conversation. The quiz was also a supporting feature to BMO’s “Balance for Better” Women’s Day weeklong programming and provided an engagement tool for onsite events and in-class learning.
